WILLIAMSPORT — Glenn O. Hawbaker Inc. has been fined $61,850 by the state Department of Environmental Protection for multiple air quality violations at its asphalt plant and quarry in Spring Township, the agency said in a news release Monday.

The company must pay more than $60,000 for numerous air quality violations during the past two years. Glenn O. Hawbaker Inc. has been fined $61,850 by the Department of Environmental Protection for numerous air quality violations during the past two years at its asphalt plant and quarry in Spring Township, Centre County.

1/30/2007: Gary Dovey Named Director of Business Resource Center:

BRADFORD, Pa. – Gary T. Dovey has been named director of the Business Resource Center at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford. The announcement was made by Kate Moody, director of outreach services. Dovey will manage the operations of the Business Resource Center, which helps entrepreneurs achieve successful business start-ups and helps existing businesses with expansion and retention planning and grant research and writing. “Gary brings extensive experience to the Business Resource Center,” Moody said. “He possesses the skills necessary to achieve our mission of assisting entrepreneurs and existing business owners to grow and prosper.” Dovey was most recently the new industry manager for the Oil Region Alliance, a nonprofit economic development agency based in Venango County. His accomplishments there included leading the recruitment of new businesses to the Barkeyville Industrial Park, which is now at capacity. More about Dovey.
